The NSSN sends our full support and solidarity to the CWU after the national strike ballot resulted in a resounding 97% YES vote for action in Royal Mail on a 76% turnout. They showed that the undemocratic voting thresholds in the Tory anti-union laws can be smashed, given a fighting and campaigning lead. Hundreds of union reps and members attended the 2019 National Shop Stewards Network last Saturday in London to discuss defending jobs, fighting for a pay rise and stopping the cuts. Throughout the day, in the main sessions and workshops, the increasing number of strikes and disputes were reported, in many cases by strikers themselves.   Staff at all 14 of Bromley’s libraries in Unite started an indefinite strike on Wednesday 28 March over a ‘paltry and insulting’ pay offer.
