This coming Saturday, the strike wave will have its biggest impact so far. 115,000 CWU members in Royal Mail (who are also out the day before) will be joined on the picket lines by over 50,000 rail workers in RMT, Aslef, TSSA and Unite.  And 1st October will also see 2,500 Unite dockers in Liverpool and Felixstowe in the midst of their weeks of action. The summer strikes are hotting up as workers hit back against the cost of living squeeze. The strike wave steps up over the next week. Alongside the increasing number of localised disputes, with many resulting in workers winning victories, three national strikes are taking place. The NSSN sends solidarity to the CWU and its members in Royal Mail, British Telecom and the Post Office. 40,000 BT & Openreach workers will be striking on 29 July & 1 August with a YES vote of over 90%, while 115,000 workers in Royal Mail Group have yesterday voted for strike action by a massive 97.6% on a 77% turnout over 1500 workplaces, smashing the undemocratic Tory ballot thresholds. NSSN 367: After the Budget: fight together to scrap the pay cap plus Birmingham binworkers victory! The Budget shows that left to their own devices, the Tories are looking to maintain the public sector cap that has devastated workers’ living standards.
