OLYMPICS
SITE PICKETED:
END THE
BLACKLIST!
Thursday 7
April
On the morning of 7 April, the
Olympics site was picketed by workers from across the trade union
movement in support of victimised RMT member Frank Morris. Frank was
sacked from his job by the company Daltech after blowing the whistle
on the use of an illegal blacklist to disbar trade unionists from
getting work on the site. This is the second time in a month that the
Olympics site has been picketed and traffic onto the site was backed
up from 7:00am, with articulated vehicles backed up and forced to turn
round. The companies involved in the Olympics project need to realise
that they will continue to be the target of protest until Frank is
reinstated and trade unionists right to work, organise and recruit is
respected on the site.
NSSN supporters can download the
Blacklist Support Group leaflet about Frank's case
here, and we encourage all of you to
raise this issue in your union branch and do all you can to help build
solidarity for this victimised worker. A report of the last Olympics
site protest can be read
here.
