Thousands of Revenue & Customs staff stage lunchtime walk-outs against privatisation

12 December Thousand of workers in HM Revenue and Customs walked out between 12 and 3 today in a dispute over a planned year-long trial using private staff in two contact centres in Bathgate, in Scotland, and Lillyhall, Cumbria.

NSSN supporters joined HMRC staff on picket lines across the country on sites including Enfield, Coventry and Central London, to name a few.

The NSSN banner joined the picket outside HMRC Euston, alongside banners from PCS and Unison.

A brief rally was held outside the Euston office, addressed by HMRC Euston Branch Secretary Anna Owens and PCS NEC member Hector Wesley. George Binnet, branch secretary of Camden Unison also brought solidarity greetings.

NSSN leaflets calling on the TUC to name the date for further co-ordinated action were well received.
