407: Support Hospitality strike this Thursday #FFS410

The National Shop Stewards Network is proud to support the co-ordinated strike this Thursday October 4th by restaurant and hospitality workers. Two of our affiliated unions the BFAWU and Unite are prominent in the action, alongside the GMB, IWW and IWGB. We believe that these struggles are giving workers in these sectors confidence to fight back. NSSN 406: Workers strike back against NHS privatisation

  Unite members in the NHS in both Kent and Yorkshire are striking this week over being transferred into wholly owned subsidiaries. This is despite this practice of privatisation supposedly being ‘paused’. Health workers have won victories in Mid Yorkshire, Esk & Wear Valley and Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Trusts and Unison members have now won a ballot to strike in Bolton. NSSN 405: POA members take action over prison safety

  The National Shop Stewards Network sends solidarity to the POA union whose members took part in protests outside prisons last Friday over the massive safety concerns that the union has for their members and other staff and inmates as a result of Tory cuts. The POA have disgracefully had their democratic right to take industrial action taken from them. The NSSN is proud that they have been a longstanding affiliate of ours and we call on the whole trade union movement to stand with them.
