222: “Its time to resist Osborne’s escalation of the cuts!”

In last week’s NSSN e-bulletin, we exposed the step change in the ConDems’ austerity offensive, announced in Osborne’s Autumn Statement. It seems our figure of £35-50billion underestimated the scale of this attack! By last weekend, it was estimated by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) and the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) that 60% of the cuts are still to be made, with £55billion to come on top of the £45billion that have already been carried out.
