412: Support Hants Prysmian Cables & Systems strike

The second 48 hour strike at Prysmian Cables & Systems in Eastleigh, Hampshire will go ahead tomorrow and Thursday, November 7-8 over a derisory pay offer below inflation. The National Shop Stewards Network is proud to support the co-ordinated strike this Thursday October 4th by restaurant and hospitality workers. Two of our affiliated unions the BFAWU and Unite are prominent in the action, alongside the GMB, IWW and IWGB. We believe that these struggles are giving workers in these sectors confidence to fight back. NSSN 406: Workers strike back against NHS privatisation

  Unite members in the NHS in both Kent and Yorkshire are striking this week over being transferred into wholly owned subsidiaries. This is despite this practice of privatisation supposedly being ‘paused’. Health workers have won victories in Mid Yorkshire, Esk & Wear Valley and Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Trusts and Unison members have now won a ballot to strike in Bolton.
