For the second successive week, we headline the NSSN bulletin with a mass mobilisation of Scottish workers. Last Saturday, 30,000 teachers and supporters marched in Glasgow as part of the pay campaign by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) teaching union. Two of our affiliated unions the BFAWU and Unite are prominent in the action, alongside the GMB, IWW and IWGB.   Unite members in the NHS in both Kent and Yorkshire are striking this week over being transferred into wholly owned subsidiaries. This is despite this practice of privatisation supposedly being ‘paused’. Health workers have won victories in Mid Yorkshire, Esk & Wear Valley and Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Trusts and Unison members have now won a ballot to strike in Bolton.
