NSSN cancels conference to support July 1st ‘Tories Out’ demonstration

As our supporters and affiliates will know, this year’s conference of the National Shop Stewards Network (our 11th) is due to take place in London on Saturday July 1st. Hundreds of trade union and anti-cuts campaigners will be preparing to take part in discussions and debates about the crucial struggles and disputes facing working people. Of course, a prominent issue would be how we organise a mass movement to take on a weak and discredited Tory Government. NSSN 243: Two weeks after the election…workers strike back!

This is our second NSSN e-bulletin since the general election result which confirmed a Tory majority government. Since then, a number of unions have held their national conferences. We are delighted to announce that at theirs, the FBU have voted to affiliate to the NSSN – the 9th national union to officially support the Network.
