414: Tory crisis – TUC & unions mobilise to force general election!

November 20, 2018 in Bulletins

From Linda Taaffe NSSN national secretary:- Emergency General Council of the TUC urgently needed This austerity big business government is hanging by a thread. The Tories are tearing themselves apart. They don’t know which way to turn. Theresa May is weak. Her only strength is the fact that there is no realistic alternative Tory leader.  The ruling class have never been in such an exposed position in our lifetime! NSSN 355: NSSN TUC Rally this Sunday – Fight together for a pay rise! Workers will be looking to the TUC Congress starting this Sunday in Brighton for a lead in taking on the brutal Tory attack on living standards. Real incomes are at 2007 levels and falling every month as price rises outstrip wage increases. But the fightback is […]

CWU general secretary, Dave Ward, tweeted “Offices across MK/LU postcode have walked out this morning in support of @CWUnews reps under attack. Solidarity and full support #TheCWU”. In the face of the militant action shown […]

May 3, 2017 in Bulletins

Workers will welcome Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell’s 20-point “workers’ charter” to fix the “rigged economy” in work. If it is enthusiastically campaigned for by taking it into workplaces, alongside policies such as re-nationalisation of the railways and Royal Mail, it could really inspire workers to vote to put Jeremy into government and ditch the Tories. Restoring, defending and strengthening trade union rights as the most effective way to fight for more secure employment and better wages is a major theme of the programme. The commitment to repeal the Trade Union Act would be a major step forward although it […]
