Overnight, the Tories have announced plans to put every school in England into academy status. This is an emergency statement from NSSN supporters in the NUT:- The government’s announcement that all schools in England are to become academies is a declaration of war on comprehensive public education and national pay and conditions for teachers and support staff. It exposes the academy project for the wholesale privatisation it is and nothing to do with tailored school improvement. From RMT London Calling read full bulletin here Despite the concerted efforts of TfL bosses to persuade members to vote against strike action our members voted overwhelmingly to take action to defend our jobs and services. 77% voted in favour of strike action. That’s 31% of those balloted, a greater percentage of the electorate than voted either for Boris or Cameron. It is a resounding mandate. We can win this dispute if we stand firm.
